Ricoh launches two new production presses
Jan 25 2013 08:50:35 , 1133

The launch of Ricoh's new machines follows news from InfoSource that it is the best-selling colour production press manufacturer up to Q3 2012, it says

Ricoh has announced the addition of two new colour cut-sheet production systems to its 'growing portfolio' for the commercial and corporate printing markets. The Ricoh Pro C901 and Pro C901S offer 'a number of enhancements' aimed at keeping users at the forefront of developments in production print and are part of a Graphic Arts range.

Both machines will incorporate EFI E42 or E82 servers which speed up job preparation, says Ricoh, and productivity is further improved with an 'uprated duty cycle' of up to 700,000, 20 percent more than previously. Larger toner bottles mean fewer changes per shift, and the standard settings for each model now accommodate substrates of up to 350gsm.

Ricoh claims that its PxP toners and oil-less fusing technology deliver near-offset results, at production speeds of up to 90ppm for sheets of 330 x 487.7mm. Enhancements including image stabilization, single direction development and automatic calibration adjustments ensure consistent image quality, it adds.

Peter Williams, executive vice-president, Ricoh, and head of the Production Printing Business Group at Ricoh Europe, comments: "Our new systems will ensure we continue to provide commercial and corporate printers with the leading system of choice and in turn ensure they continue to provide their clients with cost effective, short-run, fast turnaround print services."
