“Apex has a very strong reputation in the B3-format litho print community. The Apex team understands the market, they know the right contacts, and are extremely well trusted for their industry knowledge and understanding, and their service and support. Konica Minolta are delighted to have finalised this sales agreement with the company, and look forward to a long and successful partnership,” explains Caroline Mannering, regional sales manager at Konica Minolta.

The full range of Konica Minolta print equipment, including both monochrome and colour machines, will now be available through Apex. In a public statement, the two companies advised that Apex’ sales arm will now undergo specific training on Konica Minolta’s equipment with the technical support teams synthesising their knowledge over the coming months.

“Our customers have been looking to us for guidance with regard to the digital market, and asking for our advice. We have looked at several possible digital solutions to enhance our product offering and satisfy the needs of our user-base. Following detailed discussions and significant testing of the devices, we believe that the Konica Minolta range offers both excellent print quality when compared to other digital product, and competitively priced equipment – a critical part of the equation, of course,” says Neil Handforth, sales and marketing director for Apex Digital Graphics.

The initial ‘showroom focus’ for Apex will be on the Konica Minolta C7000 colour press, before rolling out marketing programmes on the C6000 and C8000. The company has also stated it will concentrate on helping customers evolve their colour management efficiency and quality, for both litho and digital output.

Handforth concludes: “Our support team have a detailed understanding of front-end colour issues from their work with CTP equipment in all formats. That knowledge will be invaluable to print businesses moving into digital production, and it will certainly enable Apex to have a major advantage over many suppliers in this sector.”
