French sign vinyl manufacturer Hexis will sponsor this year's European Sign Federation Sign Award, which will be presented at a ceremony during the European Sign Expo at FESPA 2013 in June. The company is also the lead sponsor of the ESF Sign Summit.

The ESF Sign Award aims to encourage sign designers, sign-makers and students to create a sign for the year 2020, with a concept based around the design of a double-sided projecting sign, fascia and monolith or totem for a historic building in a major European city that is being transformed into a luxury hotel. Entrants will have to consider the heritage of the building whilst reflecting modern sign-making practices and design.

Entries must incorporate the letters R, Y, S and T in any order and location, and designers must give consideration to materials, construction, sustainability, illumination, carbon footprint and recycling in a 500-word written explanation. Winners in three categories will receive a trophy and a certificate
