Stowmarket wide-format start-up D-Signs has enjoyed a 'very positive' beginning to its business thanks to support from Colourgen reseller Litho Supplies, which provided the company's Mutoh ValueJet 1614 and Kona cutter.

Owner Dan East, who started D-Signs in October 2012 after 17 years in sign-making, says he is confident that he has made a 'great choice' of both equipment and supplier. "I have worked with Litho for some time and completely trust their advice and guidance in this area," he says. "Colourgen has also been very responsive and professional in terms of getting me up and running and providing answers to any questions."

"The decision to take on the Mutoh is looking better each day as it can cope with anything I throw at it and it has the capacity to handle a lot more as the business grows."

The ValueJet 1614's eco-solvent inks have allowed East to house the machine in his office as no special ventilation equipment is required, meaning the business requires less space with lower overheads leading to competitive pricing. "It is early days, but I have already produced some good work and I am looking to building this over the coming months," East adds.
