Roland DGA's Rick Scrimger introduced the digital signage solution at ISA International Sign Expo

Roland DGA has announced its intentions to break into the digital signage market at ISA International Sign Expo in Las Vegas. The company sponsored a Dynamic Digital Reception at the show, during which Roland DGA president Rick Scrimger broke the news.

"Roland has helped sign-makers with their first vinyl cutter, their first digital printer, so it makes sense for us to help sign-makers get started with their first digital sign solution," he states. "And there's no reason why a sign-maker can't sell a window display, a vehicle wrap and a digital sign to help grow his or her business."

The presentation showcased Roland's PowerPoint-based solution which is expected to be made available from the fourth quarter of 2013. The complete 'digital sign-in-a-box' is set to include software, media player and a variety of content templates, as well as optional displays in varying sizes.

"The digital signage market is projected to grow at a rate of 15 to 30 percent in the coming years," Scrimger adds. "Our goal is to deliver an effective, comprehensive solution that not only meets Roland's high quality standards, but also makes it easy and affordable for any shop to offer digital signage to its customers."
