Mutoh has announced the availability of its new UMS inks for its roll-to-roll sign and display machines. The fourth-generation mild solvent inks will replace Mutoh's MS and MS+ inks.

The new UMS formulations boast three-year outdoor UV resistance and are virtually odour-free, says Mutoh. In addition, they offer an 'unrivalled' colour gamut, covering 83 percent of the Pantone C colour chart, and a gloss preservation.

"Mutoh UMS inks have been specifically formulated for Mutoh and offer a unique and innovative blend of high quality, durable colour pigments, a new mix of resins and, last but not least, a new combination of milder and non-aggressive solvents," says Arthur Vanhoutte, general manager, Mutoh Belgium.

"The UMS inks are compatible with our latest generation ValueJet sign and display printer family and are also fully compatible with installed-base Mutoh mild solvent printers. This way, Mutoh is offering installed-base users an opportunity to upgrade to a new, more environmentally responsible ink without having to invest in new hardware."

The inks are available immediately through Mutoh resellers, in one litre bottles and 440ml cassettes.
