Wide-format reseller GPT and cutting equipment and software provider Esko have signed a deal on the first day of Sign and Digital UK that will see GPT sell Esko's products in the UK. The agreement adds an 'important product sector' to GPT's existing portfolio, it says.

Shaun Thompson, sales director for GPT, says: "Cutting systems are an essential component of the modern wide-format printing solution. By adding Esko Kongsberg cutters and software to our portfolio we are enabling our customers to increase their range of applications and services to their clients and therefore increase revenue and profits. The Esko range is unrivalled in the industry, with solid experience in packaging solution that easily transfers to the wide-format printing and sign-making markets."

"Esko is already the market leader in the production of packaging solutions," adds Paul Bates, UK and Eire business manager for Esko Graphics. "GPT has an established customer base of Agfa and Mimaki users that are exactly the sort of end users that could benefit most from the Esko Kongsberg cutting tables and software."

A Kongsberg cutting table will be installed at GPT's Reading showroom to allow its customers to see the technology first-hand, it adds.
