Gandy Digital has announced its plans for FESPA 2013, where it plans to showcase the Pred8tor UV-curable flat-bed machine alongside its big brother, the Domin8tor. The company says it has clocked up more than 50 installations globally and is 'excited' to bring the technology to FESPA.
The Pred8tor, which claims speeds of up to 120sq m/hr, can print onto rigid materials up to 1.22 x 2.44m and 50mm thick and also features a roll-to-roll option. The larger Domin8tor, at 2 x 3.05m, is capable of 'ultra-high resolution' output, and prints in 25.4cm-wide swathes using Ricoh's six-picolitre variable dot print-heads in Gandy's 'Blade' configuration system.
"The Blade is the key to our ability of outputting the small text without losing speed – not to mention the ease and speed of alignment," explains founder James Gandy.
"We're really excited about bringing the Pred8tor to the show," he adds. "This is the first high-speed flat-bed available in the marketplace that offers a six-picolitre drop and true greyscale, ensuring crystal clear graphics and photographic quality colour."
FESPA visitors can book a demonstration in advance by email.
