InkTec will demonstrate the adhesion and resistance properties of the inks inside its new Jetrix KX5-R machine at FESPA

InkTec Europe will give the latest addition to its UV-curable printer family its European launch at FESPA 2013 this month, it has been announced. The Jetrix KX5-R will demonstrate its 30sq m/hr speed and 1,440dpi resolution at the show, taking place at London's Excel between June 25th and 29th.

The Jetrix KX5-R is a 2.5 x 1.3m flat-bed machine boasting a 'sleek new look' but with the robust build quality common to the rest of the range, says InkTec. The 'big brother' to the 1212, it also features Konica Minolta 1024 six-picolitre print-heads which offer 'true photographic' edge-to-edge printing, as well as a multi-layer print function which allows for PSPs to schedule their output in layers instead of multiple passes. A 2.2m-wide roll-to-roll system is another new addition.

The 'unique' highlight of the Jetrix KX5-R system is its new ink formula, which InkTec says has been designed to offer maximum adhesion to substrates such as glass, acrylic and metal without the need for a primer coat. The manufacturer guarantees that the printed inks will not chip when routed or cut, and also notes that it can be used on softer substrates like polypropylene, which can be folded without cracking.
