Carrick Signs produced 90 3 x 1.5m aluminium boards for Wigan Youth Zone, which wouldn't have been possible without the FB500
Carrick Signs says its investment in two HPScitex FB500 printers has helped it increase throughput by 150 percent, as well as boosting its revenue. The popularity of the five-year-old company's offering means it has had to move to bigger premises to accommodate the second of its two flat-bed machines.
Carrick Signs's first FB500 was purchased from CWE Solutions at Sign UK in 2010, which business development director Mandy Roscoe-Enion says the company 'didn't want to leave empty-handed'. The company was not only able to meet capacity demand, but also became able to print white, which it had previously struggled with, and to a variety of new substrates, including wooden doors. "Basically, if it's flat, we can print on it," says Roscoe-Enion.
Last summer Carrick moved to larger premises and took on a second FB500 from CWE Solutions, and the increased productivity has helped it win work that in the past it would have had to turn down, such as for the Wigan Youth Zone. "The job came in fairly late, but we were able to output it in a very short space of time," says Roscoe-Enion. "Most importantly, the client was thrilled with the finished result, which looks fantastic."
