Colorific Solutions Ltd has launched its Lightbar UV print conversion solution to a worldwide audience at FESPA 2013 on stand A32S.
Colorific’s Lightbar UV print conversion solution enables wide format printer owners to convert existing solvent printers to a greener and more economical UV solution. Currently compatible with any wide format solvent machine that uses Epson Piezo DX4 and DX5 print head technologies, the Colorific Lightbar UV print conversion solution is a hybrid system which combines the reliability of an eco solvent ink with the print performance of a UV ink.
The Lightbar UV print conversion solution comprises an external, stand-alone lamp kit which fixes to the front of any compatible wide format printer. During the printing process, the pigment is fixed to the ink-receiving layer on the media and then a secondary cure – using the new system – fixes the droplet and provides an immediate cure and cross link on the media.
Shaun Holdom, Business Development Director, at Colorific Solutions, comments, “We are extremely excited that FESPA 2013 is being hosted in London this year as it offers the perfect opportunity officially to launch our Lightbar solution to the wider international audience. We previewed the solution to UK customers at Sign & Digital UK 2013 and it created great interest. To date, circa 20 of our international partners have orders for the Lightbar.”
Holdom continues, “The Lightbar UV print conversion solution couldn’t make it simpler to convert an existing Solvent/Eco Solvent wide format printer into a UV roll to roll printer. The technology behind the ink and the curing system is cutting edge and we’ve invested substantially in R&D to bring this solution to market.”
The list of benefits – in comparison to eco solvent solutions, includes over 30% less ink usage, faster print speeds, dramatically improved print-head performance and incredible print durability.
In addition, Holdom explains, “Our Beta sites are also talking about the savings made on man hours as the ink requires no degassing and in most cases, the need for lamination has been removed.”
