Mimaki reseller Granthams – a member of the UK and Ireland channel run by master distributor Hybrid Services – has provided a 1.6m JV33-160 and CG-160FXII cutting plotter to Fraser Display, as well as software and training, meaning it can turn around work 'that to other suppliers looks crazy'.
Lee Smith, who had originally intended to join Fraser Display's sales department, praises Granthams's approach in helping his company bring its wide-format production in house. The JV33 now outputs point-of-sale materials, exhibition stands and display units, as well as banner stands, vehicle graphics and wallcoverings. It has also produced an unusual multi-substrate brochure using the machine.
"My previous experience and the reputation of the Mimaki JV33 meant it was a simple decision to make and the samples I received from Granthams convinced us all it was the right choice," he explains. "Granthams's technician taught me what I needed to know on the printer, but he also went through the artwork workflow on the Mac too.
"We're getting more value out of the space than we were before. [The JV33 is] more than paying for itself already because we're so busy, printing thousands of pounds of output a week at the moment."
