Seiko Instruments launched its new ColorPainter M-64s at FESPA in London and sold 8 machines on the first day of the event. By the end of the show, the company had taken over 60 orders for the new 64" wide printer.
Seiko Instrments puts the success of the machine down to its extraordinary print quality. It can print PVC at speeds of 33.1 m2/h and is now able to handle the widest range of applications for both outdoor signage and the indoor graphics market.
The new printer uses Seiko's low solvent SX ink which has a guaranteed UV stability of 3 years outdoors. The new ink - with exceptional colour gamut - is almost odourless and can therefore also be used for indoor applications.
The professional take-up and winding system for rolls up to 50 kg makes an unrestricted use for roll-to-roll banner applications up to a speed of 66.5 m2/h possible. The heavy rolls can be handled easily by using the especially developed integrated media lifter.
Seiko Instruments is supplying the new machines with a 2 year warranty. It will be delivered with an ONYX RIP Center SIIT edition software and is available from mid of September 2013.
