Bristol-based photo-print service provider Latent Light has invested in a Canon imagePress C7000VP to meet increasing demand for high quality photobooks and to expand its business with a new web-to-print facility.
The imagePress C7000VP is a 1200 x 1200dpi digital colour production printer that runs up to 70ppm enabling Latent Light to offer faster turnaround times for short-run, print-on-demand and customised jobs. It complements the company's existing C6000VP.
Designed to handle photobooks, calendars and canvas prints, the new imagePress joins a fleet of Canon imagePrograf wide-format devices, with the intention of boosting throughput for the company's new business at photogifts.co.uk. This new outlet specialises in personalised photo gifts that can be created online, with products ranging from books to mouse mats and chopping boards.
Adam Gildersleeve, managing director of Latent Light, says: "We have a clear idea of where we currently are in the market and where we want to be. We needed to find the right print solution to deliver the quality, consistency and speed required to grow our business. As with any business decision we considered our options, but our search for uncompromised quality and service led us back to Canon."
