Caldera has announced a software agreement with Brazilian wide-format printer manufacturer Ampla. The deal will see Caldera's RIP architecture used in Ampla machines as an OEM product.

"The choice of Caldera's solutions as Ampla's preferred software is definitely a strong sign that Ampla can gain international market exposure, as well as bring progress to its user base at home in Brazil," says Caldera chief executive Joseph Mergui. As well as Caldera's RIP solutions, Ampla will have access to a number of productivity and quality control tools, including real-time monitoring of production costs and carbon emission and integrated colour management solutions. Ampla hopes that the new software will increase consistency and quality across its wide-format print range.

The Ampla link-up is the latest step in Caldera's decision to move into new global markets, including Latin America.
