A 60sq m LED screen provided by ADI has débuted during the third Ashes Test Match at the Emirates Old Trafford, home of Lancashire County Cricket Club (LCCC), as part of an extensive £45 million redevelopment to the ground. The 16:9 widescreen installation was used to broadcast live footage, statistics, scores and umpire referral decisions during the five-day test.
The pitch-side display screen was the first large-scale cricket installation carried out by ADI, whose broadcast and technology solutions have been used in almost 100 stadiums across the UK.
"ADI has delivered our desired vision, with a tailored screen solution which is completely in keeping with the cutting-edge, contemporary design of our ground," says LCCC operations manager Terry Watson. "Importantly, the project was completed in time for us to host the third Investec Ashes Test Match."
As well as the screen, ADI provided two LED displays from iConic 12 for the duration of the test for use in fan zones around the ground. It was the company's second project at Old Trafford, having previously installed a network of screens inside the AJ Bell Players and Media centre in 2012.
