PSCo Technical Distribution has added an 'ultra-slim, bezel-less' 60" (152.4cm) plasma display panel to its 'Exclusives' range. An expandable videowall product, the 60" is intended for high-end retail, broadcast and other large-format dynamic display applications.

Stuart Holmes, chief executive officer of PSCo, comments: "We selected the PSCo 60" to further enhance our offering, allowing a wider variety of applications to take advantage of the unbeatable visual impact and superior performance of a plasma-based solution."

The PSCo 60" plasma display is 55mm thick, with a bezel of 0.9mm and can be configured for use in large or unconventional multi-screen videowall applications.

The screen has 1365 x 768px resolution and brightness of up to 1700cd/sq m, allowing it to be used in a variety of viewing conditions, including indoors and at street level.

"Compared to LCD, [plasma display panels remain] a great technology for the right applications, especially where impressive video performance and consistent colour performance are needed," says Bob Raikes, managing editor of trade newsletter Display Monitor. "[Plasma displays] used properly and with knowledge can provide displays with excellent visual impact."
