The introduction of the iPF6400S and iPF8400S is part of an upgrade for the whole imagePrograf range

Canon has upgraded its eight-colour imagePrograf printers, adding two new models for use in the graphic arts market. The iPF6400S and iPF8400S, due to replace the iPF6300S and iPF8300S respectively, will feature 'Hot Swap' ink tanks, an optional spectrophotometer and Canon's Colour Calibration Management Console (CCMC) software.

"The upgrades to the iPF6400S and iPF8400S are designed to enhance image quality, productivity and usability," notes Duncan Smith, wide-format group director for Canon UK. "We are continually listening to what customers need – and expect – from their printers and these latest updates reflect this feedback and are, as always, enabling us to offer even stronger and more versatile products."

As well as a larger hard disk than their previous iterations, the iPF6400S and iPF8400S offer a Photoshop plug-in, PosterArtist Lite and Direct Print and Share software, which offers cloud-based sharing to simplify workflow and allows batch printing of JPG, TIFF and PDF files. The printers' CCMS software, combined with Canon's Calibration Ink technology, boasts consistent colour management across multiple eight-colour units.
