Roland DG at Labelexpo: Proofs, prototypes and small-series printing
Sep 18 2013 14:22:44 , 1204

At Labelexpo Europe, Roland DG will be showing inkjet printers that can be used to quickly and easily print proofs, prototypes and small series of labels on the original printing medium. Those prints can also be given special effects, such as relief, gloss, white and metallic.

Labelexpo takes place from 24 - 27 September 2013 at the Brussels Expo. Roland DG will be presenting a number of digital printers at booth F46 in Hall 9. The machines are suitable for proofing, prototyping, micro-runs and short runs. The keywords for these printers are efficiency and the possibility to print on the original label and packaging materials. They also offer a cost-effective alternative for traditional solutions.

UV technology

VersaUV LEC-540 digital inkjet print and cut deviceRoland DG is presenting a number of UV printers. Thanks to the UV LED technology, they are able to print on all common label materials. The LED lights, which dry the ink, do not produce any heat, making it possible to print on heat-sensitive materials without any problems. The printers are available in widths up to 163 cm and use up to six colours: CMYK, white and clear. The transparent ink is used to create mat, glossy and relief effects. Relief printing includes Braille script and structure printing.

In addition to the roll-to-roll printers, Roland DG also has UV units that print directly onto objects. That makes it possible to apply any information and logos required directly onto prototypes and mock-ups.

Roland DG is also presenting its popular eco-solvent printers that can be used with white and metallic ink. With that metallic ink, hundreds of metallic shades, including gold, silver, bronze and pearlescent can be simulated. That means that the prototypes give a very good impression of the final labels that will be using metallic inks.

The printers are equipped with a cutting blade, so the labels can first be printed and then have the contours cut automatically. That is a time-saving, cost-saving and space-saving alternative for separate printer and cutting plotter.

We look forward to seeing you on booth F46 in hall 9 at the show, but if you’re unable to make it, check out our VersaCAMM VS series and VersaUV LEC series print and cut solutions. Visit the Labelexpo website www.labelexpo-europe.com for more information about the show.
