Pixartprinting has 'responded to customer demand' for textile printing and invested in a Rhotexindustrial ink-jet printer from Durst. The Rhotex 322 was selected for its ability to print up to 110sq m per hour on a variety of soft signage materials.
"For a while we have been noticing client's shift in favour of textiles rather than standard PVC banners," comments managing director Alessandro Tenderini. "The reasons for this are not surprising. Firstly, disposal of materials is simpler than with standard PVC banners, while lighter fabrics are easily foldable and transportable, crease less and may be used more time than PVC banners."
The Rhotex engine's ability to use 'sustainable', odourless inks without compromising on lifespan for outdoor work was a key factor in making an eco-friendly choice, says Pixartprinting – something it believes is vital for its consumer base.
"Our choice to 'go green' is not a fashion statement but a necessity," Tenderini continues. "Many European countries are heavily regulated by environmental laws which inevitably result in standard PVC materials being replaced by eco-friendly textiles."
