EFI has made its #pinkjet campaign one of the key planks of its SGIA 2013 presence

EFI has released its first roll-to-roll LED printer at SGIA Expo 2013, the 3.2m VUTEk GS3250lxr Pro, which is the first of its type to use the manufacturer's 'cool cure' technology. Also announced at the show is the commercial availability of its VUTEk GS Pro-TF thermoforming system, an ink-jet UV-curable printer and ink combination for product decoration.

"With the new VUTEk GS3250lxr Pro, we are extending the benefits they get with our LED curing technology – a proven, green technology that saves many of our customers money by reducing their consumables waste and energy consumption," says Scott Schinlever, senior vice-president at EFI ink-jet solutions. "This technology also provides higher uptime with greater reliability because it uses no traditional heat in the curing process."

EFI has also launched a fundraising initiative at SGIA called 'Pinkjet', which aims to raise funds for cancer charities during the trade show. For each Twitter retweet, Facebook like or share, EFI will donate $1 (62p), while donating $10 (£6.20) for a photo shared with EFI through the hashtags #EFIeverywhere and #pinkjet. Additionally, the company has pledged $1,000 (£650) for printers signed at SGIA and shipped by November 30th 2013.
