HP has brought several solutions and upgrades to its product portfolio at SGIA 2013, with the aim of providing print houses with the tools to grow their businesses and break into new markets. The new products include a new HP Scitex varnish ink, two canvas substrates and product analysis tool SmartStream 2.0.
The FB225 varnish ink from HP is designed for use in Scitex FB7500 and 7600 engines and can be used for embossing, full or partial varnishing and offers an 'expanded' colour gamut. Offering protection against scratches and water damage, the inks will be available from November 1st 2013.
As well as releasing its Premium and Everyday satin canvases for use in fine art, HP has updated WallArt, a cloud-based web-to-print service for creating interior décors.
For Scitex users, the updated SmartStream workflow software provides a more comprehensive dashboard interface, shared annotation and job report summaries for detailed, comparative productivity analysis.
"Large-format print service providers are working in a changing marketplace, challenging them to step outside of their application comfort zone to meet client demand," said Xavier Garcia, vice-president for wide-format sign and display at HP. "HP's new offerings will empower customers to confidently move into high-value markets."
