Wallpaper specialists Surface Print has invested in a 3.2m HP Designjet LX3000 and a 1.5m LX260 as it looks to put digital printing at the centre of its operations. The new additions will allow the company to produce one-off and unique wallpapers for interior designers and surface print designers.

The LX3000, which will be used for the majority of the workload, provides output speeds of up to 77sq m per hour for indoor work. Capable of printing onto a variety of substrates, the LX3000 offers roll-to-roll printing and uses aqueous latex-based inks. The LX260 will be used for producing design samples.

"Lancashire is renowned in the UK for producing fine grade wallpapers and at Surface Print, we pride ourselves in producing only the finest," comments Abigail Watson, marketing executive at Surface Print. "CWE Solutions introduced us to the HP Latex 3000, which was the winner in the end. It can produce everything we want it to and more and will keep us ahead of the game.

"We're really looking forward to having it delivered and up and running as soon as possible," she adds.
