Epson has performed live demonstrations of a T-shirt production line, showing off the capabilities and gamut of its latest textile printer, the SureColor SC-F2000, at Viscom Düsseldorf 2013. Aimed at the high end of the direct-to-garment market, this machine is expected to be retailed in Europe for around €16,750 (£14,000).
This is the first time that the SC-F2000 has been on open display at a trade show, having previously been shown 'behind the curtain' at FESPA to select Epson resellers. The textile printer, which is designed principally for apparel and accessories, offers the option of printing in light magenta, light cyan, light black and orange, as well as the standard CMYK.
"The big advantage of the SC-F2000 is that all of the technology used is from Epson itself," states Andreas Stephan, business development manager at Epson. "Thanks to the development of our print-head technology, we've been able to develop this printer in line with the needs of the market."
The first deliveries of the new printer are estimated to take place in mid-November 2013.
