Advantech has recently announced the DSD-5028, its latest digital signage display. The screen utilises LCD resizing technology, a 16:3 super-wide aspect ratio and a 1920 x 358 resolution.
The display claims to require 50% less power than LED signage counterparts, using 40W rather than the 200W the company claims is the standard for LED digital display, and comes with the ability to be wall-mounted and bundled with Advantech digital signage players in a rear AD box as part of an all-in-one solution. With an ultra-wide aspect ratio, wide viewing angle of 178°(both horizontal and vertical) is designed to allow the product to be used in smaller spaces while maintaining the integrity of the colours.
The DSD-5028 supports VGA and DVI signal interfaces, high brightness (700 cd/m2) and a contrast ratio of 3000:1. 100 x 200mm wall mount holes are built into the product to allow for flexible mounting, even onto ceilings. A 38" (0.9m) 'stretched' display is scheduled for release this month, while the DSD-5028 has already been made commercially available.
