Singaporean 3D printing centre Simplifi3d, which hosts educational workshops and and runs a printing and scanning service, is to hold a 3D printer face-off, believed to be the first of its kind, on December 11th 2013 as part of its launch celebrations.

Among the judging panel at the event will be former Apple technologist Yen-Lu Chow, Joel Leong, editor of Makers' Journal, and design, science and technology consultant William Hooi. Among the printers that will competing will be the Portabee Go, the Apollo 3D printer and the MakerBot Replicator 2.
