ColorGate has released v8 of its RIP software, with updated versions of the firm's ProductionServer, FilmGate, PlateGate and ProofGate offerings. Version 8 can also be 'future-proofed' with the addition of ColorGate's Value Pack software maintenance program, which means that customers can gain access to future updates and upgrades for a yearly fee.

Among the raft of changes is the switch to Adobe PDF Print Engine 3.1 as the software's rendering program, which adds scalability functionality and optimised data transfer for constant printing speeds at volume.

Also improved in v8 is the ProductionServer, which comes equipped with media device synchronisation, allowing for standardised colour management across printing systems, and contains, for the first time, ColorGate's Proof Standard Digital Module, for proofing to international colour standards such as ISO 12647-7 and Fogra 39.
