Dec 20 2013 10:34:40 , 1103

The UJF3042FX is part of Mimaki's UJF range of direct-to-substrate printers

Mimaki has reduced the price of its UJF-3042FX A3-size flat-bed printer to £16,995 plus VAT as it looks to increase sales of the device. Part of the company's industrial range, the UJF-3042FX offers six ink channels and variable dot printing at 1,200dpi, while it offers a range of ink combinations, including primer, clear varnish and white ink.

"The new price brings the revolutionary UJF-3042FX to an even broader market," believes Mike Lewis, industrial products sales manager at Mimaki distributor Hybrid Services. “We're equally finding the robustness and build quality of the UJF3042FX makes it suitable for manufacturing workflows, with multiple machine installs per site ever more common."

The UJF3042FX is able to print to a variety of substrates – among them acrylic, plastic, metal and glass – up to 50mm thick. It is suitable for short-run printing where personalisation and quick turnaround are key requirements.

"Mimaki has provided a solution that perfectly suits the burgeoning personalisation industry coupled with the popularity of web-to-print," adds Lewis. "The uptake of UV-LED printing is increasing rapidly as print providers see the benefits of direct to substrate printing."
