Quality Print Services (QPS) has stated that it will continue to distribute BioMedia recyclable display films for the wide-format and display markets, despite Ilford Imaging ceasing production at its Swiss factory following its declaration of insolvency in December 2013.

QPS has revealed that it still has stock to sell and that it will continue as a supplier of BioMedia 'for the foreseeable future'. The BioMedia range is available from QPS in a variety of thickness and widths, including matte-finish BioMedia Display Film and Display Film UV, with prices expected to remain the same as QPS's non-recyclable materials.

"It's saddening that Ilford Imaging has become another financial casualty in our industry, especially as we believe its eco-friendly substrate BioMedia has such great potential to improve the sustainability of sign and display businesses," says Chris Bailey, director at QPS.

"Fortunately we invested in a large quantity of stock from the BioMedia range ahead of Ilford's difficulties and so are able to meet immediate demand from our customers, at a price that will help them meet sustainability targets such as ISO 14001 certification without being at a financial disadvantage."
