The Rosie Hospital in Cambridge, The Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Huntingdon the British Heart Foundation (BHF) and The Soldiers' Charity have all received donations as part of Xaar's £12,000 charitable fund. UK employees were asked to vote on which local charities should receive £2,000 from the fund, which contributes to charitable causes in the UK and Sweden.
The funds raised will go towards heart disease research at the BHF, financial assistance for soliders and their families, Hinchingbrooke's expansion of its cancer support centre and a new maternity facility at The Rosie Hospital. As well as its donations in the UK, the Xaar charitable giving fund has offered support for the Swedish Childhood Cancer Foundation (J?rf?lla) and The Swedish Cancer Society.
"It is a massive morale boost for all here to know that there is such overwhelming local support," states Anna Shasha, head of midwifery at the Rosie Hospital. "As one of the region's busiest maternity hospitals, our facilities have been under huge pressure in recent years. That's why every penny raised continues to help ensure we can offer the best possible care to more women, new-borns and their families. Thank you, Xaar."
