Canon has ranked fourth in the recent Climate Counts study, which measures sustainability versus GDP contribution world-wide. Analysing the sustainability of 100 global corporations across ten industries, including in fuel, healthcare and consumer goods, the study uses a system named the Context-based Carbon Metric to judge how companies perform compared toemissions targets developed by the Tellus Institute.
Of the companies surveyed, Canon was one of 49 currently deemed to be sustainable. Of the 49, 25 business were said to have managed to reduce emissions while boosting revenue growth.
