MISSISSAUGA, ON., February 4, 2014 - Canon Canada Inc. announced Tuesday that Taizaburo “Ted” Egawa will become President and CEO of the company effective immediately. He replaces Kazuto “Kevin” Ogawa, who now assumes an executive position with Canon China and the Canon Asia Group after six years with Canon Canada.
A 31-year veteran with Canon, Mr. Egawa joined Canon Inc. in 1983, beginning his career with the International Business Management department where he was responsible for office equipment sales for corporate clients. He has worked in several Canon Global Regions, including Japan and the United States. He also spent a year with Canon Canada’s Camera and Video Division between 1984 and 1985.

He successfully grew Canon’s brand and presence in the Canadian market and effectively led the organization under challenging economic conditions. We wish him well on his new assignment with Canon China,” said Mr. Joe Adachi, President and CEO of Canon U.S.A. and Chairman of Canon Canada. “Ted will be a great addition to Canada’s leadership team. He played an integral role in strengthening Canon USA’s Imaging Technologies and Communications Group business and expanded our company’s reach into new domains. He is a strong leader, whose skills and abilities will serve the Canadian region well.”
Most recently, Mr. Egawa was the Vice-President & General Manager of Strategy Planning & Administration for the Imaging Technologies and Communications Group (ITCG) at Canon U.S.A., spending close to 16 years with this region where he was responsible for the strategic direction and business operations for Canon’s digital photographic and imaging solutions products.
Mr. Egawa holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Chuo University in Japan.
