Summa Brings New Technologies to Thermal Transfer Printing
Feb 11 2014 10:46:17 , 1066

Seattle, Wash.-based thermal printer and cutter manufacturer Summa is bringing new innovative technology to the well-established category of thermal transfer printing. The firm has just launched two new devices that showcase the innovations—the DC5 and DC5(sx), the company’s next-generation thermal transfer printer-cutters for sign making and display graphics.

The new DC5 series features an array of enhancements designed to increase connectivity, productivity and ease-of-use. Variable media width selections allow for printing on a wide range of materials and sizes. Multiple printer output is available via USB and up to four Summa printers can be connected and managed by a single computer. The DC5 also supports Ethernet, which opens up networking and high-speed job data handling options. State-of-the-art mainboard technology, driven by a processor which is now seven times faster, makes DC5 capable of arranging and multi-tasking jobs between printers. Most strikingly, the user interface has been completely redesigned to accommodate a vivid color touch-sensitive display combined with an equally friendly high speed RIP software program.

The new Summa DC5 is available in both 30” and 54” widths. For more information, visit
