Mutoh has announced the immediate availability of its ValueJet X-series. The 1.6m (64") ValueJet 1638X and 1638WX are designed for the sign and display market and are expected to supersede the VJ-1638 and VJ-1638W models.
The 1638X can use either Mutoh Eco Ultra inks or universal mild-solvent inks, while the 1638WX uses DS2-series dye-sublimation inks, suitable for soft signage printing. Both models contain two micro-piezo heads in a staggered formation, allowing for a 5cm (2") spread of ink droplets. The mainboard for the devices has been upgraded, with a 64-bit RISC processor sitting at the heart of the engine.
The X-series incorporates DropMaster technology, an automation process that calculates and adjusts the droplet fire rate from the print-head in either a single or multi-directional manner.
"The new, robustly built ValueJet 1638X and 1638WX printers will set new benchmarks in terms of high productivity at the highest resolutions, attractive cost-per-print scores as well as an unrivalled level of ease of use," suggests Arthur Vanhoutte, Mutoh Belgium's general manager.
"Our new DropMaster technology allows getting constant and uncompromised print quality effortlessly, even for first time users."
