PressOn has streamlined its print operations following its purchase of an EFI VUTEk QS2 Pro from CMYUK Digital. The new addition now handles the majority of the company's production, including work previously produced on a latex machine, thereby reducing its number of printers while increasing throughput.
The 2m engine can act as a flat-bed or roll-fed printer, and uses greyscale print-heads with UV-curable inks. PressOn has also increased its range of printable products, offering printing onto gold polymerics and clear substrates as a result of the opaque white coverage capabilities of the machine.
"In truth, we hardly know we own the VUTEk QS2 Pro as it works flawlessly day in, day out," states Andy Wilson, joint managing director of PressOn. "Its versatility is unmatched and we can offer a lot more in the way of variety."
"PressOn is a classic example of a busy company successfully optimising its printing facilities to achieve streamlined and faster throughput in a combination flat-bed and roll-fed printer," suggests Robin East, sales and marketing director at CMYUK Digital. "Prudent businesses don't want to free up large amounts of space or resources for multiple machines when one or two will be equally, if not more, productive."
