Xeikon has announced that it will host a discussion event, Xeikon Café, on innovation in packaging from May 20th – 22nd 2014 at its production site in Lier, Belgium. The three-day event aims to combine talks, live demonstrations and workshops to advise attendees about sector trends and techniques for digital labelling and packaging.
Four of Xeikon's application suites will be on display at the Café, with systems for folding cartons and self-adhesive, heat-transfer and in-mould labels being exhibited. Xeikon's Aura Partners will also conduct technical seminars, where their respective roles in creating the application suites will be discussed.
"Digital printing answers many of the challenges today’s print producers and converters face," suggests Filip Weymans, director of segment marketing for labels and packaging. "Integrating a digital press into an otherwise traditional workflow is one thing; aligning all processes and equipment is an entirely different matter.
"Close collaboration is the key," he adds. "The innovative power of co-creation is huge. The latest addition to our application suite is a case in point: it's the first integrated solution ever to make it possible to use digital printing as part of an automated in-mould label production process."
