The Avalanche Hexa was beta tested at various print houses specialising in textile printing

Kornit has released the Avalanche Hexa, a six-colour direct-to-garment printer which uses CMYK, red, green and an optional white channel.

Boasting a total print area of up to 0.6 x 0.9m, the Hexa can output up to 200 light or 100 dark T-shirts per hour at up to 630dpi. Kornit's NeoPigment process means that its inks meet both the OekoTex 100 standard and GOTS v3.0 (Global Organic Textile Standard). Following beta testing, the device is now available world-wide via the manufacturer's reseller network.

The machine is designed to make spot colour handling and colour matching easier, particularly when printing logos, on an array of fabrics. Specifically, the Avalanche Hexa incorporates 20 Spectra Polaris print-heads and offers an integrated humidity system and battery back-up.

"At Kornit we're not surprised to learn that the benefits of the Avalanche Hexa appeal greatly to print companies needing colour accuracy for fashion and branding," states Wilfried Kampe, general manager of Kornit Digital Europe.

"Successful testing has shown that this direct-to-garment system offers the speed, quality and the best colours that the market needs, particularly when moving up to an advanced machine or making the transition from conventional screen-printing."
