SMGG returns to Sign & Digital UK 2014 with expansive array of wide-format solutions
Stanford Marsh Group Graphics (SMGG), the commercial graphics division of Stanford Marsh Group, returns to Sign & Digital UK in 2014 with an expansive array of wide-format print solutions for the signage sector. The company will be on Stand F70 and will be showcasing solutions from Mimaki, HP and others. SMGG will also been announcing exclusive show offers.
Widely regarded as a leading independent solutions provider for the wide-format print sector, SMGG was appointed by Mimaki’s exclusive UK & Ireland distributor, Hybrid Services, to the authorised Mimaki reseller network in November 2013. SMGG also offers wide-format solutions from Canon, Epson, HP, Mutoh and Océ amongst others.
At Sign & Digital UK 2014, SMGG will be demonstrating Mimaki’s CJV wide-format printer/cutter machine on stand. The Mimaki CJV30 Series is a multi-award winning, 'all in one' machine sporting high-end features. It is delivered with up to 2 years comprehensive Gold warranty, a full set of 8 inks, a take-up unit and a powerful software bundle including RasterLink PostScript RIP, FineCut cutting software and a design creation package.
SMGG will also be showing the latest HP latex printer and an HP DesignJet aqueous machine at the event. This versatile machine enables print service providers to meet a wider range of customer needs with high-quality, outdoor and indoor applications such as high-impact POP displays, soft signage, bus shelters, vehicle graphics, and more. The HP L260 printer is capable of printing on a broad range of materials, including vinyl, fabrics, paper, film, and low-cost uncoated options.
Launch of new media range
The supply of consumables is a major part of SMGG’s overall business, with distribution across the entire UK – most of which is delivered by next-day service using SMGG’s own transport. The company encourages customers to optimise the use of their new equipment and re-order the most appropriate ink and media along the way. At Sign & Digital UK 2014, SMGG will be announcing a new range of media specifically aimed at professionals that wish to reduce their cost of consumables yet maintain a high quality standard – ‘Print media that delivers at the right price’. More details of this exciting range will be announced during the run-up to the show.
Adrian Painter, Director at SMGG, comments, “As a truly independent supplier of an extremely wide range of printing solutions, we are able to offer sound advice on how to get the best performance from any given machine.
“Our clients are unique with differing applications, expectations and standards. It is our job to understand where our customers wish to be, share the vision they have for their business and help them achieve those goals by aiding them through what otherwise would be a difficult process or decision.
“I for one wouldn’t want to visit Sign UK and be expected to come away with a clear enough understanding of the right machine to buy. You won’t find one that produces a bad print, claims to have poor quality or narrow colour gamut. They will all be ‘wonderful, the fastest on the market and at a great price’. But what SMGG will do is listen to your needs and recommend what we believe to be the ‘right solution’. Sounds simple and surely what everyone would do?
“Not so, in my opinion,” adds Painter, “but it’s what we’ve done for almost 50 years in our trading history and why customers return to our business time and time again.”
SMGG provided a pre-launch look at the Xerox IJP2000 at last year’s event and hopes to have another new and exciting device amongst this year’s line-up. The company also attracted a lot of attention with 3D print, which – albeit not aimed at this market - continues to be a hot topic and tipped to be the ‘next industrial revolution’. See www.smg3d.co.uk if you are interested in the markets and applications of 3D print.
