Roland DG has made its VersaUV LEJ-640F commercially available following the demonstration of a prototype at Sign and Digital 2013. The company's first dedicated flat-bed, the 1.6 x 2.5m machine uses the manufacturer's Eco-UV inks and instant-cure UV-LED lamps.
The LEJ-640F can handle substrates up to 200kg in weight and 150mm in height, while outputting at 1,440dpi in CMYK, white ink and gloss. The machine comes with VersaWorks RIP software, which features variable data printing, an ink-usage calculator and a Pantone spot colour library.
"This machine has generated tremendous interest since we introduced the prototype at Sign and Digital UK last year," claims Rob Goleniowski, business manager for sign and graphics at Roland DG UK. "A year on, we have an outstanding commercial model to offer the industry – and it is a welcome addition to our growing family of [UV-curable] machines.
"The inherent flexibility of this machine is exceptional and we are looking forward to meeting with customers at Sign and Digital to discuss how they can diversify and grow their product offering and profitability by investing in this exciting flat-bed UV-curable technology."
