TagG Informatique will conduct a field test on Xeikon's new digital engine, which uses Trilliumliquid toner printer technology, in order to fine-tune the machine ahead of its commercial release.
The Trillium outputs at a speed of 60m (200ft) per minute at 1,200 dpi, with a print width of 0.5m (19.7"). Xeikon hopes the press will increase throughput to a speed of 120m (400ft) per minute in the future. Trillium-based presses are designed for the production of high-volume direct marketing materials, transactional documents, books, catalogues and magazines.
TagG Informatique, which has been a customer of Xeikon for 15 years, was chosen for its diverse on-site production exper using specialist equipment.
“I'm convinced that Xeikon Trillium will be a game-changer for the printing market," says Hervé Lesseur, managing director. " We have the freedom to use paper substrates of choice, and will be able to produce the highest quality output my clients require. The ability to support IPDS data, which is highly important to print high quality transactional work, is another important benefit.”
