Darlington-based Sense Creative has purchased the LumeJet S200 printer with the aim of extending its portfolio of products, increasing capacity and targeting the photographic market.
The LumeJet S200 uses 305mm photographic roll paper for all page sizes up to A3 with full bleed, including trim (1000x305mm maximum), making it suitable for lay-flat books. It uses the RGB colour space and boasts ICC profiles to achieve colour fidelity, including the reproduction of hard-to-print Pantone spot colours such as neons, metallic and solid black.
The company is in the process of creating a portal for its photonic print range, inviting photographers to join the site to access a range of products and offers once the LumeJet is up and running.
“We think that photographers are a key market for us but, to service the sector adequately, we need the highest quality print possible," says Tim Thompson, managing director. "The output from the LumeJet means that we can happily reach into the photographic market.”
Miles Bentley, LumeJet’s commercial director, says he is looking forward to testing the capabilities of his company’s product in conjunction with Sense Creative: “The concept of running the S200 on a virtual continuous output system, served via a web-to-print gateway, printing thousands of individual files a day is exciting.”
