Roland DG will set out to showcase the potential of digital print at FESPA Digital 2014 with demonstrations of its Soljet Pro4 XR-640, as well as the recently launched Eco-Sol MAX2 inks.
The 64" (1.6m) XR-640 is a print-and-cut device designed to be a flexible, fast-turnaround engine. Featuring Max2 inks, it is able to print in white and metallic silver as well as CMYK, light black, light cyan and light magenta.
The metallic silver ink boasts simulation of more than 500 metallic colours, while the high-density white ink provides a base coat for CMYK graphics on clear media and can also create white text and graphics on dark substrates. The machine is primarily aimed atphotographers and advertising agencies.
Roland DG will also demonstrate its VersaUV LEF-20, a compact flat-bed printer for gadgets, promotional gifts and prototypes. The machine prints text and images at high resolution on a variety of items including iPhone and tablet covers, pens, Plexiglas photo cubes, golf balls and other objects or plates up to 10cm high.
