For commercial printers looking for ways to increase their overall revenue and adapt to a rapidly changing market for print products, the next major calendar event is Sign and Digital UK, which plays host each year to one of the highest concentration of wide-format technology developers in Europe.
“I think unfortunately the perception of many printers is that wide-format is on their wish list, but that’s all it is, a lot of them are not making that commitment,” says Steve Peet, hardware product development manager at PaperlinX, in an honest assessment.
Taking place from April 29th to May 1st, PaperlinX is exhibiting at Sign and Digital UK, showcasing its array of wide-format print equipment and media.

With a huge footprint in supplying commercial printers with paper and consumables, the company’s key message is that its customers in this sphere can tangibly make in-roads into wide-format, turning talk into reality.
Peet continues: “Quite a few print businesses see obstacles that don’t exist anymore and I think that is because they don’t know that the latest technology is capable of.
“I have been in printing all my life, and attitudes need to change from seeing wide-format as a ‘happy medium’ to realising it is now intensely colour managed, highly-productive and automated, as well as intensely integrated with workflow and MIS solutions—in fact it can improve your current setup.”
