Dunne says the SurePress L-4033A is a 'perfect fit' for Label Tec

Label Tec Scotland has opted for an Epson SurePress L-4033A as its first ink-jet label press, aiming to broaden the range of substrates on which it can print while ensuring quality, consistent colour and affordability.

The L-4033A uses Epson's SurePress AQ ink, which includes green and orange to give a wide colour gamut for precise colour matching and accurate reproduction of spot or speciality colours. Paul Dunne, director at Label Tec, has confidence in the new product, commenting: "We can now produce a product that will enable us to grow our business."

The Airdrie-based company produces labels for white goods, drinks, cosmetics and pharmaceutical products and has been in the market for 19 years. Key drivers when selecting the machine were its competitive pricing when compared with offset presses and its ability to match up to 90 percent of Pantone colours.

"Designs with fine gradations, which are a struggle to print flexo, can be printed effortlessly on the Epson, [so] no concessions on customers’ designs are necessary," he adds. "Furthermore, using the variable data option, we can also serialise and personalise the labels. As a result, we can now produce a product that will enable us to grow our business."
