The World Wrap Masters will return for FESPA Digital 2014 with a new competition format: competitors will wrap not only cars, but also more challenging items including mannequins and bathroom fittings as a way to demonstrate the wider applications of the process.
36 individual professional wrappers will compete in the four day competition to win the €3,000 (£2,470) cash prize. This year's event will also be held alongside an open head-to-head competition, challenging visitors to wrap a car door against the clock.
The World Wrap Masters judges, including last year's winner Piotr Cinski, will be on hand to offer insight and guidance into the world of wrapping during the contest, as well as demonstrating advanced techniques and discussing the business opportunities open to the wrap community.
"Wrapping is going from strength to strength in the industry," believes Duncan MacOwan, head of new media and events at FESPA. "Where it has traditionally been cars that have been wrapped, people are now using the technique to develop creative and inspiring applications.
"While cars will remain the focal point of our wrap competition, this year we’re introducing a variety of other items to wrap to illustrate the wider application and potential of wrapping."
