Agfa Graphics has added a clear primer option to its Jeti Titan S and HS printers to improve ink adhesion and output durability.
The Jeti Titan S (speed) and HS (high speed) flat-beds, which are aimed at the point-of-sale, art, fashion and cosmetics markets, use 1,280-nozzle Ricoh Gen 5 print-heads. A flat-to-roll option is now available at the maximum width of 3.2m for those looking to print flexible and rigid substrates at the same resolution.
The primer can be applied to sections of the image or in its entirety, claiming to ensure adhesion without loss of colour density or gamut while output onto challenging materials, including fluted polypropylene.
Phase Three Marketing and Communications is the first company in the US to have installed a Jeti Titan HS. Senior vice-president Gail Turner says: "The Jeti Titan HS will bring faster speeds, better quality and more output. It will be a great complement to our existing machinery for digital [point-of-sale] printing."
The Jeti Titan HS was launched at the International Sign Association's Sign Expo in Orlando at the end of April and will make its European debut at FESPA Digital in Munich in May.
