The latest iteration of EFI's Fiery DFE has been ramped up significantly to bring productivity to a new high-speed level. As well as much faster processing, it also features improved image quality and easier automated workflows, along with seamless integration with MIS and ERP systems. Designated the Fiery FS150 Pro, its HyperRIP now has the capacity to process a print job on four processor cores simultaneously, which EFI says generates a 55 percent speed increase when compared with Fiery Driven presses without the HyperRIP capabilities.
Designed for cut-sheet digital production devices, the Fiery FS150 Pro DFE includes advanced imaging features, building on its predecessor which was the first DFE to carry a 100 percent perfect pass label from VIGC’s PDF RIP Audit. This means that users are assured that their output matches the intent of the designer on the first print.
Fiery ImageViewer let users view full resolution raster data in real time with the ability to carry out final adjustments prior to printing, with last-minute colour alterations and corrections produced quickly. Additionally, there is a new greyscale composite overprint feature for correct monochrome handling of overprints, drop shadows and transparencies.
The Fiery FS150 Pro DFE integrates seamlessly with EFI’s MIS/ERP, eCommerce, web-to-print and scheduling tools. It offers support for APPE 3.0 and an extended library, including the 84 new colours included in the Pantone Plus Series. Its integration manager has time and cost saving workflow integration via JDF configuration settings, and there’s a free Fiery Go app for iPhones and iPads for remote monitoring and managing of print jobs.
The first DFEs based on the Fiery FS150 Pro system platform will be available from June.
