JCT Visual Communications has invested in a Truepress Jet W3200UV from Screen Europe as it aims to meet client demands regarding substrates and job turnaround.

Having witnessed strong growth in its retail and exhibition graphics work, which has seen the company double in turnover each year since 2011, the decision was made to invest in the 1.6m x 3.2m flat-bed machine. The W3200UV allows to the company to print on substrates up to 50mm thick, while also providing an output speed of up to 85sq m per hour. The print house has chosen to run the device with CMYK plus light cyan and light magenta, widening the gamut to produce improved skin tones.

"We looked at a number of different printers, and showed the results to customers to gauge their reactions," explains Julian Turner, founder. "Some models couldn’t match the print quality and colour fidelity our customers demand, while the running costs of others were too high.

"We – and our clients – are delighted with the quality, the productivity, and the new business the machine has brought in. We're already handling several thousand display boards a month and it’s likely we'll be moving into new, larger premises pretty soon."
