Wide-format digital printer manufacturer Roland DGA Corp., Irvine, Calif., is teaming up with Harrison, N.Y.-based paper converter/supplier Case Paper to promote the use of Case Paper’s Sonata media line with Roland VersaUV LEC Series wide-format UV inkjet printer/cutters.
Available in thicknesses from 0.08 to 0.024 point, Sonata Silver and Sonata Rainbow laminated paperboard substrates are ideal for folding cartons, point-of-purchase displays and other packaging and commercial printing applications. Offered in 30” and 54” models, Roland’s LEC printer/cutters produce a wide range of specialty graphics, including short-run labels and package prototypes such as folding cartons.
“Being able to create quality prototypes that accurately match the final production run is very important when evaluating design options,” said Hiroshi Ono, group product manager for Roland DGA Corp. “The Sonata media line delivers the outstanding image quality needed, as well as the excellent folding and creasing characteristics critical to folding carton applications. We are very impressed with the results.”
Featuring low-heat LED lamps, award-winning VersaUV LEC printer/cutters print CMYK, white and clear inks on a wide range of media, and then contour cut, perf-cut, score and crease graphics, all on one device. White ink enables printing on clear media and clear ink creates embossing and varnishing effects in gloss and matte finishes.
