FC Barcelona's FCBotiga retail store has seen a 22 percent rise in customised shirt sales following the installation an e-commerce apparel service from TMT Factory.
The 'digital locker' interactive kiosks are powered by AOpen's Digital Engine DE6100 media players, which run on AMD Eyefinity, allowing one player to drive up to three screens simultaneously. BroadSign's digital software platform is included, allowing the content delivery system to be linked to the kiosk's stock, order and payment systems.
Customers choose the shirt they wish to purchase, before selecting and visualising their customisation options using the digital screen. A POS scanner allows loyalty card holders to pay for the shirt immediately, with the design sent to the store's production lab to be printed as they wait.
"On the sales and services side we looked at automating the personalised printing of shirts and designed the 'digital locker' solution to streamline this process with digital media," comments María Eulalia Perez, chief executive at TMT Factory. "The Digital Locker brings back the element of fun, because passers-by can see what others create and get tempted to do the same thing.
"It's a great sign that shoppers are willing to embrace digital technology in-store, which in turn is driving sales."
